BANYUASIN – | Gubernur Sumatera Selatan Herman Deru minta seluruh lapisan masyarakat untuk menjaga lingkungan sekitar agar pencemaran udara berkurang.
Berdasarkan penyampaian peringatan dari WHO terdata setiap tahun 7 juta orang yang terpapar pencemaran udara dan diketahui 9 dari 10 orang tercemar polusi udara, kata gubernur saat peringatan lingkungan hidup sedunia di Banyuasin, Selasa.
Atas dasar itulah pihaknya mengajak seluruh lapisan masyarakat Sumsel termasuk Bupati dan Wali Kota untuk menjaga alam melalui pengendalian polusi udara dan menginovasi sampah menjadi bahan bakar konvensional.
“Menyadari kerusakan lingkungan akan berdampak luar biasa pada manusia, alangkah baiknya kita menjaga dan peduli akan lingkungan,” ujarnya.
Apalagi lingkungan alam ini adalah milik anak cucu sehingga seluruh lapisan masyarakat termasuk ibu PKK bersama sama menanam pohon sejak dini, kata dia.
Bila perlu setiap memasukkan anak sekolah harus ada bukti foto anak menanam pohon. Ini merupakan salah satu cara mempertahankan lingkungan setelah dirusak oknum tidak bertanggung jawab, kata gubernur.
Menurut dia, menjaga lingkungan tidak hanya satu cara atau hanya mengurangi polusi udara saja, melainkan bagaimana juga memelihara alam ini khususnya daerah aliran sungai yang bersih.
“Kita harus hemat menjaganya jangan sampai terbuang percuma dan kita punya target “hijau bumi biru langit” itu bukan hanya slogan biasa tapi ini pernyataan kita terhadap generasi berikutnya,” katanya.
Sehubungan itu para orang tua punya tanggung jawab terhadap apa yang akan mereka kelola di masa yang akan datang, kata dia.
TPA Regional
Sementara Bupati Banyuasin Askolani mengatakan, salah satu program Banyuasin Sehat dapat diaplikasi dengan pola hidup bersih dan mengelola sampah dengan baik.
Memang Kabupaten Banyuasin baru mempunyai dua tempat pembuangan akhir sampah (TPA) yakni di Desa Terlangu dan Duren ijo.
Dengan demikian, menurutnya kedua TPA tersebut belumlah dapat memberikan solusi untuk penampungan sampah rumah tangga yang dihasilkan di Kabupaten Banyuasin, oleh sebab itu telah ada Nota Kesepakatan antara Pemerintah Kabupaten Banyuasin dengan Pemerintah Provinsi Sumsel untuk membuat TPA Regional.
Untuk itu dihimbau dan mengajak kepada seluruh lapisan masyarakat baik individu maupun secara bergotong royong, membersihkan dan mengelola sampah dalam menjaga pola hidup bersih, untuk mewujudkan Banyuasin Sehat, kata bupati.
